Why We Built This Site
Pennsylvania gives the public access to many court records, but Chester County uses office names that can confuse people who are used to other states. The Prothonotary handles civil and family filings. The Clerk of Courts handles criminal court files. The Register of Wills and Clerk of the Orphans' Court handles estates, guardianships, and marriage licenses. Magisterial District Courts handle traffic, summary, landlord-tenant, small civil, and preliminary criminal matters.
The goal is practical routing. A person looking for a divorce decree, traffic citation, criminal sentence, estate file, jail custody status, or warrant-related docket entry may need a different office even though each search sounds like a "court record" request.

What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site. We have no connection to any Pennsylvania court, Chester County office, sheriff's office, prison, clerk's office, or state agency. There are real limits to what we can help with:
- We cannot file paperwork or send records requests on your behalf.
- We cannot issue certified copies of any court document, marriage record, divorce decree, or estate filing.
- We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific case applies to you.
- We cannot guarantee that every phone number, fee, address, or schedule listed on this site is current right now.
Only the issuing court or government office can provide a certified copy with an official seal. The document has to come from that office.
Search Partners
Some pages include search boxes powered by third-party providers. Those companies set their own pricing and run their own services. When a search tool leads to a paid signup, this site may earn a referral fee. That revenue helps keep the public reference content free. We do not control what those tools charge or what appears in their results.
